MANILA, Philippines – Busy summer continues for esports on campuses with AcadArena’s University Alliance Cup (UAC) gearing up for the League of Legends: WildRift Tournament in its second edition

The first Wild Rift collegiate tournament in the country, it will follow the recently concluded UAC-Valorant where rivals Viridis Arcus from De La Salle University (DLSU) and LG Esports from Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) locked the horns in the final

It was a repeat of the Valorant tournament of the fall 2020 season, where Viridis Arcus won both titles

UAC Wild Rift will adopt the same format as Valorant with two groups: Divisions A and B

A promotion and relegation format is also at play as Division A teams face off in a best-of-two round robin format, while Division B teams will be in the best of two. of the three double elimination groups

The top B-Division teams will then face off against the bottom four of the A-Division for a prime spot in next season’s tournament

Besides a chance to win prizes worth 60,000 Php, all student players participating in UAC – Wildrift will be able to apply for the Globe AcadArena Merit Esports (GUNEMES) Scholarship

The University Alliance Cup-Wildrift will start their group stages in May with a playoff set for June
