Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge issued a warning to his side ahead of the Good Friday clash this weekend

Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge issued a warning to his side ahead of this weekend’s Good Friday clash with North Melbourne

Despite a mixed start to the season, Beveridge says her team of top dogs should be wary of North

After winning two quarters against reigning minor premiers in the first round, the Roos have shown their ability to lead the fight to the best of the competition

“Our big challenge is to make sure we are ready for their best (the kangaroos),” said Beverage

“With (Ben) Cunnington who could come back to the side and this emerging group of midfielders, there is real strength and courage around the ball

“It remains to be seen if we can keep the rage going against a team of Kangaroos who will desperately need [their] first victory. we will have to be really on our guard “

After campaigning for Good Friday football since the 1990s, North finally appeared in the game for the first time in 2017, with the Western Bulldogs’ three-point victory being an instant classic.

Beveridge praised North’s commitment to Good Friday football and said he hopes the game continues

“North Melbourne has put a lot of time and energy into promoting the game and I know what they think of their involvement,” he said

“It is a great privilege for the club and our team to be involved on Good Friday … for both of our clubs, it is really important for the future”
