“We just don’t have steel in tough circumstances We go to bed and it gets embarrassing man it’s There are a few glimpses of attacking footy out there, but then we just undo it all with just low effort

“We say the same f *** ing thing, sorry same thing for three years I’m done and we need to fix it, man It’s just not good enough”

Now, however, it looks like McGuire has been told he was not wanted at the Cowboys with the Daily Telegraph’s Phil Rothfield revealing on NRL360 on Fox League that it was clear to explore his options

“He wears jersey 15, he cannot enter the starting camp even if Jason Taumalolo is not there”

Broncos winger Xavier Coates to delay decision on Brisbane contract extension offer pending appeal from Storm coach Craig Bellamy on his future

LNRcom reported that the Broncos are expected to offer the 20-year-old an improved contract extension, but speculation surrounding Bellamy’s plans beyond 2021 has thrown a wrench into the works

The Storm is considering Coates as a potential replacement for Bulldogs flyer Josh Addo-Carr, who has signed a four-year contract at Belmore starting next season

According to NRLcom the Storm offered Coates at least a two-year contract, with the Broncos willing to revise their two-year offer in an effort to keep Coates at Red Hill

The Broncos are also stuck in key negotiations with center Kotoni Staggs and half-back Tom Dearden

Working with Bellamy would be a major driver of Coates’ potential defection to the storm

However, Bellamy is stuck in his own contract negotiations with Melbourne, Brisbane and the Sharks with the option to move from a head coach role to a coaching director role

It remains to be seen if Bellamy will coach one more year at the Storm before taking on a new role at one of the three vying clubs, with the Storm in the box.

The Queensland winger may choose to wait for Bellamy to make a call before confirming his own future

Coates has scored 11 tries in 18 games since debuting in 2019 and scored two tries in two games for the Maroons in his first Origin series last year

South Sydney has less than a week to make an offer to non-contract captain Adam Reynolds

The playmaker’s manager told Souths he would explore options if the Rabbits didn’t budge on their offer of a one-year $ 700,000 contract

Reynolds wants to stay, but with the Rabbitohs offering him only one year, offers like the $ 3 million for three years that would be presented by the Cowboys might be too good for the South Sydney junior to turn down

The 31-year-old has confirmed he’s ready to leave the Rabbitohs if they don’t come to the table with an improved offer

“Listen, I’m here for the 12 months my contract says now, but hopefully things will be sorted out in the next couple of weeks or months, but at the moment I’m probably on Jobseeker the year next, ”he told Triple M

“You have to weigh all the options and see what will happen, but hopefully we will sort things out in the next couple of weeks. I think I still have three or four years of good football, consistent and solid in me

“I didn’t fall like slowing down at any point in my career, the body feels really good

“I have a pretty practical guy (Benji Marshall), I look through the locker room and he’s 36 and still doing well, so that gives me some hope”

Wigan coach Adrian Lam challenged the Wests Tigers over their attempt to land Jackson Hastings

Former Roosters and Manly half-back was linked with the Tigers last week, with Concord club considering a move for his services

Hastings played at half time and also hooker in his time in the Super League

But Lam said there was no way his club would let Hastings go before his contract expired.

“He is engaged until the end of the 2021 season, he is there, he trains well, he loves it, we enjoy his company, he will play a role in our success this year and to the extent that where we ‘are worried, nothing has changed,’ Lam told the Manchester Evening News

“I’m not sure when this report was cited from Was it last week or was it an old revamped quote?

“Jackson Hastings is out of contract at the end of this year, so I guess he and his management group will talk to whoever they want
