Optus is suffering from an outage in its cellular network along the east coast of Australia, and widespread problems have been reported
The telecom operator said in a network advisory that it is “working to resolve a network issue on the Optus mobile network in NSW, QLD and VIC”
In a statement, the telecommunications company said: “Due to technical issues with the network, some Optus customers, including residents and businesses, may experience intermittent interruptions to their mobile calling services , SMS and data “
“Keeping customers connected is our priority, and Optus technical teams are investigating this incident with remedial actions to begin as soon as possible,” the telecommunications company said.
Most of the problems were occurring in the east coast capitals of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra
