Toro is recalling 6,700 snowblowers because a faulty auger may not disengage when the lever is released, posing a risk of amputation, according to a notice from the U.S Consumer Product Safety Committee

The Bloomington, Minnesota-based company recalled of 2021 Toro Power Max 826 OHAE snow throwers with model number 37802, according to the advisory

The snowblowers were manufactured in Juarez, Mexico, and sold nationwide at Home Depot, Ace Hardware and other Toro dealers from November 2020 through January 2021 for around $ 1,200

Consumers can check the back of their snow throwers for the model and serial number A list of affected serial numbers is available on the Toro website

Anyone who owns one of the snowblowers can call Toro at 833-254-8856 or visit the Toro website to find a service dealer to fix the problem for free

Any consumer who has had an incident with the product can report it to the CPSC on their website
