Ebene News – EN – TikTok to sponsor Hollywood-owned Wrexham

Global entertainment platform TikTok has been confirmed as sponsor of National League club Wrexham for the next two seasons

TikTok’s involvement comes after Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took ownership in January

The duo’s takeover of the club will be the subject of a documentary series entitled Welcome to Wrexham

“Having TikTok on the front of our shirts is a big hit,” said Humphrey Ker, executive director of Wrexham

“And we’re sure it will be popular with our fans, as well as those who are active on TikTok

“The ability to access their full social reach creates a community development opportunity that many will envy”

TikTok is the abbreviated video app which, according to UK media regulator Ofcom, has grown from three million adult visitors in September 2019 to 14 million in March this year in the UK alone

The club will be launching their own official TikTok account which will “feature everyone involved in the club, including Rob and Ryan”

Nick Tran, Head of Global Marketing at TikTok, said: “TikTok occupies a unique position at the center of the entertainment, technology and creative community to help bring the story of Wrexham AFC to life at a global audience

“With the growth of football clubs, players and trends on TikTok, joining Rob and Ryan in bringing Wrexham AFC back to the English Football League was a natural fit for us”
