Norwich City recorded a 2-2 draw at Barnsley on the final day of the season as they lifted the Sky Bet Championship trophy and bid farewell to Alex Tettey and Mario Vrancic

Tettey and Vrancic both started the game in what was their last game of their careers at Norwich City, with news of their departure this summer coming in the days leading up to kick-off

Daniel Farke made four changes to the starting lineup from the side that last beat Reading 4-1 Oliver Skipp and Teemu Pukki both missed an injury and were replaced by Jordan Hugill and Tettey, while Xavi Quintilla and Kieran Dowell fell to the bench to be replaced by Dimitris Giannoulis and Mario Vrancic

Barnsley, who beat Norwich City in the FA Cup fourth round at Oakwell in January, started the game with flying colors, pushing the Canaries onto the pitch and quickly advancing the ball when they took possession of it

Connor Chaplin was the first to come close with a shot from the edge of the box, before Jasper Moon, leaving for the Tykes for the first time, tested Tim Krul with first effort on target.

Andrew Omobamidele was then stripped of possession by former Canary Carlton Morris, who then squared the ball for Cauley Woodrow who scored his 14th goal of the season

Norwich reacted superbly as Kenny McLean played the ball widely for Max Aarons, whose cross into the box was led into the bottom corner by Emi Buendia

Barnsley regained control of the procedure as Morris had a shot blocked by Omobamidele before Krul saved an early effort from Woodrow The Tykes then took the lead once more when Styles crossed for Chaplin to squeeze between the couple from the Norwich center-back and nod their head to the back of the net

Norwich got off to a good start to the second half with Buendia throwing a pass at McLean in the box, but was denied a scoring chance by a slippery challenge from Michal Helik This challenge saw McLean leave the game through injury to be replaced by Adam Idah

And Idah crashed into the equalizer with his first touch as he completed a fluid movement that involved Aarons, Buendia and Cantwell shooting the ball into the roof of the net eight yards away.

Barnsley boss Valerien Ismael made three changes immediately after that goal, replacing his first three by knocking out Morris, Chaplin and Woodrow for Dominik Frieser, Daryl Dike and Victor Adeboyejo

This allowed the hosts to continue with their high press, but Norwich City continued to look more dangerous in the finals as Hugill tried to get home on a free kick from Mario Vrancic, before coming out after s ‘getting injured, and Idah running to home defense and having a point blank shot blocked

Then Buendia came close to scoring a late contender for the season’s goal in the 83rd minute It came from a nice disguised pass from Vrancic to Buendia, who then played a quick one-two with Dowell before almost finding the top corner with half a volley from the edge of the surface

Moments later came the most emotional moment of the match, as Tettey, who made his Norwich City debut in September 2012, was replaced by Jacob Sorensen to a standing ovation from all players who were present. inside the stadium in what was his final appearance for the club
