Neil Lennon’s side are looking for four straight league wins to keep the pressure on Rangers

The big one is just around the corner, but Celtic can’t afford any mistakes in hosting Dundee United

After a disastrous run of form, Neil Lennon’s team seem to have stopped the bleeding and clinched three straight wins

The 16-point gap at the top of the Premiership may seem daunting, but the champions still have three games in hand

For that, they really can’t afford to drop any points this afternoon, with the head to head against Rangers on Saturday

Lennon insists his players are in a much better position after a series of wins and a triumph in the Scottish Cup final

The visitors are on a streak of just one in five wins in the league, but are in fifth place and have weapons that can hurt Celtic

Nicky Clark is enjoying the whole season in front of goal and Marc McNulty and Lawrence Shankland know where the back of the net is that day

Celtic: Barkas; Frimpong, Jullien, Ajer, Laxalt; McGregor; Soro, Turnbull; Christie; Édouard, Griffiths Submarines: Hazard, Taylor, Duffy, Bitton, Brown, Ajeti, Rogic, Johnston

Dundee United: Siegrist; Smith, Connolly, Reynolds, Robson; Edwards, Pawlett, Harkes, Clark; McNulty, Shankland Subs: Deniz, Sporle, Powers, McMullan, Bolton, Fotheringham, Appere, Neilson, Hutchinson

Griffiths finds Edouard on the edge of the box but he doesn’t catch his shot properly and Nicky Clark blocks

Moments later, Griffiths himself tries but he whips his blow just above the bar

McNulty falls under pressure from Bitton and claims he had a back push

He has 10 goals this season but he blazes on his left foot with the gaping goal

It wasn’t a fault, he just took a wound in his stomach and is out of breath

His shot is hard and low, but Siegrist goes down to take a strong hand over Excellent goalkeeper

A long ball over McGregor’s top appears to have sent Griffiths clear, but the Dundee United goalkeeper comes out of the box to clear

Celtic are just patiently zapping the ball and trying to get this United defense out of position

Looks like it could be bad They don’t move Jullien’s knee and he will leave on the stretcher

Duffy has been recalled from the warm-up but it looks like Nir Bitton is replacing him

He beat Jullien for rhythm and lifted him over Barkas, but the Frenchman does fantastically to come back and get off the line

Ajer wins in Dundee United’s half of the field and does very well to escape the press

They dominated the ball – 72% possession according to our tally – and move it with determination

If you wanted to score holes, both goals came from low percentage shots from outside the box, and Diego Laxalt wasn’t at his best

The ball holds up well for Clark at the edge of the box and he tries one with his left foot

The movement seems to be collapsing but Edouard shows a great fight to win it back and fire him for Soro

He tees up Turnbull and the midfielder hits low and hard for a shot that comes out of the post

Nicky Clark throws a corner into the box and, as we’ve seen so often this season, Celtic are struggling to cope

Edwards comes to the end, but it’s a bad header and it falls very wide

David Turnbull throws a cute little ball over the top for Griffiths, who takes it on the fly

Barkas comes out to regroup, however, and it seemed his center-back had the pace of recovery to sniff out any self-inflicted danger.

Edward lets him run for Griffiths but the Scotsman uses an arm to control him

We’ve seen the Hoops be massive in possession this season, but they’re zipping it up with real purpose here

That goal should calm nerves and it could end up being a long day for United at this rate

We congratulated him ahead of the game – as did Neil Lennon – but the Dundee United man didn’t cover himself in glory there

Maybe it took a deviation, which would explain things, but it went its own way

The midfielder takes it and Dundee United does not support, so he decides to release one

It may have taken a slight gash in a United defender’s boot, but it’s a fierce, deviant strike that flies into the net!

The hosts have had around 70% possession and they look a lot more determined than they have sometimes been this season

That said, the longer it goes 0-0, the more confidence Dundee United will gain
