Loftus Road boss Warburton believes the 25-year-old striker – who rose through the ranks to Queen of the South after emigrating from Australia – is “catching up” due to lack of academia

Dykes has not dropped since losing 2-1 to Brentford in November and four of his five strikes for the Championship club have come from the penalty spot

But former Rangers manager Warburton is a big fan of the powerful leader he signed from Livingston for £ 2million last summer

Dykes has since established himself as Scotland’s number one forward, scoring two goals in seven caps
