Education Secretary Gavin Williamson said he was “absolutely convinced” that secondary schools in England will be able to put together a mass testing program with an extra week to prepare

He told Sky News: “When it comes to high school year groups, the reason we have stepped back is that we donate to every school, every school, every college that teaches students to ‘secondary age the possibility of mass test diet, ensuring to eliminate this coronavirus

“It’s not just about making it safer for students, it’s not just about making it safer for those who work in schools, it’s actually about eradicating the coronavirus in our communities and we had to give schools a little more time “

When asked if a week is enough time to prepare for a working mass test system, Mr. Williamson said: ‘We are absolutely confident that yes we will see all the testing equipment needed for schools delivered on Jan. 4th, schools have already been made aware of the advice on what to do, they have also been made aware of the additional £ 78million we are offering “

Education secretary added that 1,500 members of the armed forces would support schools in “exceptional cases” facing problems

He added: “At every step we make sure that children can have a brilliant education that we want all of our children to receive.”
