Ebene News – GB – Jos Buttler scores first 100 T20 with 124 out of 64 balls for Rajasthan Royals in IPL

Jos Buttler smashed his first T20 100 with a stunning 124 out of 64 balls for the Rajasthan Royals against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League

England batsman Buttler surpassed his previous best score in the unbeaten 95 format, with his thrilling innings in Delhi with eight sixes and 11 fours as he reached the highest score by an English player in the IPL

Buttler hit fifty of 39 balls, but then took just 17 more deliveries to hit triple digits and scored 80 on the last 26 balls he faced as he hit a first ton in the 282nd T20 game of his career

The highlights for the 30-year-old were taking 15th place from Mohammad Nabi for 21 and blasting 24 from Sandeep Sharma in the 19th before the latter had him beaten inside in the Royals total of 220-3

Buttler, whose best score in six previous rounds of this year’s tournament was 49, said: “I really enjoyed It was great spending time there and having fun. didn’t find it easy I haven’t felt in my best shape for a while now, so it’s been a bit difficult

“Sometimes you have to accept that you aren’t playing well and just find a way to hang on to it Sometimes I think I was guilty of trying to get back in shape too quickly and failing to be given a chance I managed to do this and got better over the sleeves

“I’ve spent a lot of my career in the middle order where hundreds aren’t necessarily that easy to find At the top of the order, you have a great chance so I’m finally going to stop making say to Sir Alastair Cook he has a T20 more than me! “

Buttler is the fourth England player to score an IPL century after Kevin Pietersen, Rajasthan Royals teammate Ben Stokes (twice) and Sunrisers Jonny Bairstow

Pietersen scored 103 points for the Delhi Capitals against Deccan Chargers in 2012, while Stokes – absent this season with a broken finger – hit an unbeaten 103 for Rising Pune Supergiant against the Gujarat Lions in 2017 , then 107 steps for the Rajasthan Royals against the Indians of Mumbai in 2020

Buttler would have been trapped lbw on seven by Rashid Khan on Sunday if Sunrisers could have requested a review – but they had shredded him earlier in seeking to get Yashasvi Jaiswal lbw out

Buttler made the Sunrisers pay off as his second 150-by-88-ball stand with Royals skipper Sanju Samson (48 of 33 propelled their team to a massive total at Feroz Shah Kotla, the same venue where 437 points had been tagged in Mumbai defeated Chennai Super Kings in a last ball thriller on Saturday night

The Sunrisers are now in command by Kane Williamson, with David Warner sacked from his captain’s post and then left out entirely against Rajasthan
