Sheppey receives a rave review on television tonight (Wednesday) when QI presenter Sandi Toksvig takes Kent actress Jessica Hynes on a tour of Elmley National Nature Reserve
The couple stay at Kings Hill Farm, which can accommodate up to 14 people, for extraordinary escapes on Channel 4 at 9pm
Sandi, who had a house across the water in Herne Bay, and Jessica are taken on a frantic tour of the 3,300 acres of swamp on a tractor-trailer by Gareth Fulton who runs the reserve with his wife Georgina
At one point, Jessica turns to him and asks, “What are these big white birds called?”
The reserve has 50 species of nesting birds and is a favorite spot for “twitchers” in search of rare species
Sandi tries out the UK’s ‘ultimate stays’ for the show which also includes a luxurious Windmill Hideaway in Benenden as the two explore the Garden of England
This will be a nice change from Monday when the island was featured in an entirely different type of documentary called Undercover Police: Hunting Pedophiles
