Sophie Rundle has recounted how she was hospitalized after recently contracting coronavirus and suffered episodes of ‘intense vomiting’

The Gentleman Jack actress, 32, who has filmed the show’s second series in recent weeks, took to Instagram on Monday to discuss her fate

Sophie explained that she is now recovering at home, but still had a bloodshot eye after vomiting and a ‘Dickensian working orphan’ style cough

Sophie shared a few photos of herself looking tired from her ‘sickbed’ as she glanced at her followers at her bloodshot eye

She wrote next to the pictures: ‘GREETINGS FROM MY SICK BED! So for Christmas this year I got myself a nice juicy Covid-19 fight

‘I also have a very festive bloodshot eye from all the hardcore vomiting I did in the hospital (slip in if you’re feeling brave) I can’t taste anything, I have a cough that competes with a working orphan from Dickensian and the angel atop my festive sickness tree is the JAW of my little gnarled wisdom teeth on the back

However, it seemed like Sophie was refusing to let her ‘festive party of evils’ take her down as she told her fans to comment to cheer themselves up

Peaky Blinder’s official account posted a love heart under the post Sophie has played the role of Ada Thorne on the BBC series since 2013

She currently plays Ann Walker in Gentleman Jack opposite Suranne Jones, who plays lead character Anne Lister, considered the ‘first modern lesbian’

Sophie was last seen dressed in character filming scenes with Suranne for the historical drama on December 10 in West Yorkshire

It is currently unclear when the series will return to television screens MailOnline understands production is now on Christmas break and will resume in the New Year

Gentleman Jack follows the character of Suranne Anne and her sweetheart Ann Walker in BBC period drama

The series is set in Yorkshire in 1834 and is based on the diaries of English landowner and columnist Lister

The new episodes follow the character of Suranne as her sweetheart Ann moves in with her to Shibden Hall and the couple embark on their married life

The first series saw Anne and Ann torn apart when Ann was taken to Scotland, under threat of being married off by her brother-in-law

But the finale saw the couple reunite when Ann was called back to Yorkshire to visit her bedridden aunt

Their reunion took place in a dramatic hilltop moment where Ann revealed she was finally ready to marry Anne
