Stacey Solomon looked after when she kindly volunteered at a homeless shelter over the holiday season
The 31-year-old star and her son Leighton decided to spend the day wrapping bags with goodies at The Soup Kitchen in London before handing them out to those in need
It was also an emotional day for Stacey, who revealed that she had “cried” after successfully securing hundreds of donations for the Dove initiative
Sharing numerous clips with her 39 million Instagram followers, Stacey admitted this year has been a little different because of the pandemic
Instead of coming together to sing songs and celebrate the holiday season, Stacey and the team of volunteers helped come up with plenty of take-out Christmas dinners.
The adoring mom of three provided several updates on all the chores they needed to complete during their volunteer day
“We packed the bags full of goodies, cutlery, salt and pepper and I stocked enough Suede bars all year round for each bag,” Stacey wrote
She added, “Then it was time to hand out teas and coffees and chopped pies while preparing dinner”
The crew then got to work, transporting roast dinners to take away in a battle of stairs to hand out in a row
“Leighton loved to check his steps on his phone every time he had a roast,” Stacey added
In addition to the clips, mom of three added that her favorite part of the day was having conversations with friends she hadn’t spoken to in a while
Just before the end of the day, the weather also deteriorated but they managed to distribute all the dinners just in time
Stacey and Leighton joined a huge group of volunteers who had given time to help the local community
“Leighton and I were just two of SOOOO many people from yesterday who gave time ALL the time to help others They were so amazing we all love you You know who you are,” Stacey wrote
She also noted that the shelter doesn’t just support the homeless and that a growing number of visitors are receiving help from The Soup Kitchen
Later that day, Stacey opened up about the overwhelming support she had received from the brand she works with, Dove
After reaching out to the brand for help, Dove bosses didn’t hesitate to send out many products such as deodorants that they could offer to visitors to the shelter.
“I honestly cried,” she added “There’s nothing better than working with a brand you believe in and then finding out that they believe in what you do too “
