Quin Snyder, head coach of Utah Jazz, will lead the Western Conference team at the upcoming All-Star Game, according to a report released by ESPN on Wednesday
Snyder, 54, in his seventh season in Utah, helped engineer Jazz set the league’s best record – 23-5, which includes 19 of his last 20 games and an 11-game winning streak consecutive Jan 8-29
This honor marks the first time that a jazz coach will lead an All-Star team since Frank Layden in 1984 Layden, coach of a team that included Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, fell into a team from the ‘Coached by K of the Boston CelticsC Jones and stars Larry Bird and Julius Erving
Snyder, who served as an assistant coach with the Clippers, Sixers, Lakers and Atlanta Hawks before joining the Jazz, has an overall record of 294-216 (576%) and is 13-21 overall in playoffs
ESPN also added that Philadelphia 76ers coach Doc Rivers, whose Sixers team has an 18-10 lead in the East, is “in line” to be the coach of the ‘Is This would be Rivers’ third coach in an All-Star competition (2008, 2011)

Although the NBA has not officially announced the date of the All-Star Game, ESPN has announced that it is scheduled for March 7 in Atlanta.
