Ebene News – UA – Neighbors’ Craig McLachlan mourns & says life ‘ruined’ by allegations of sexual assault

Neighbors star Craig McLachlan broke down in tears in a video he filmed alongside partner Vanessa Scammel as he opened up about his sexual acquittal of assault charges

Neighbors star Craig McLachlan broke down in tears as he said he was acquitted of the sexual assault charges which “ruined” his life

The actor, 55, who played Henry Ramsay on the Australian TV show, filmed a moving video alongside his girlfriend Vanessa Scammel which is featured in a promo for his upcoming Australian TV interview 7NEWS Spotlight

This is his first major interview since he was cleared of seven counts of indecent assault and six common assault by a Melbourne court in December last year

This followed accusations by a number of co-stars on a 2014 production of The Rocky Horror Show who claimed Craig had acted inappropriately towards them – allegations the TV star denied vehemently

All charges against the actor have been dismissed and Craig has now explained how the ordeal affected him and his pianist partner Vanessa

In the clip, Craig says: “See, it’s not just a headline for the day, it ruins lives

“Not just me, do you want to crucify me? Alright Look what it does to my beautiful partner, see what it continues to do to my family every day”

It comes after a previous clip from the interview showed Craig with tousled hair and a bushy beard looking into the camera and saying, “I hope your lives are good, cherish them because they can be carried away like this “like he broke his fingers

It’s not yet clear when the interview will air Down Under, but Channel 7 bosses have previously insisted it will contain “explosive revelations” and “never-before-seen footage”

McLachlan told court in November that hugs and kisses between performers were “common” in his field of work, and insisted that any inappropriate contact on stage “could only be accidental”. p>

Delivering her judgment, Magistrate Belinda Wallington said that while she accepted some of the testimony of the four plaintiffs, that was not enough to prove the accusations – including the one that the actor tickled the inner thigh of a woman while she was on stage

In her ruling, Magistrate Wallington said accounts from “courageous and honest witnesses” to alleged incidents were not sufficient to prove McLachlan’s intention

Craig appeared as Henry Ramsay in over 800 episodes of the popular Australian soap opera Neighbors

He also starred in the Aussie rival soap opera Home and Away as Grant Mitchell in the early 1990s
