DAYTON – Chase Johnson, a junior redshirt for the University of Dayton men’s basketball team, has announced that he will be leaving the program on Wednesday
Johnson shared on his Instagram account that he was leaving the team for health reasons
– Unfortunately, after a thorough evaluation and consultation with my family and doctor, I decided it was in my best interest to step away from basketball and focus on my health and school, – Johnson said
– It was a very difficult decision to make But after a long road of obstacles, it became clear to me that my health is more important to me than anything that is at handâ ????
When Johnson returned to the program in July after taking sick leave in the spring, he started all five games, averaging 122 points and 60 rebounds

Johnson thanked Grant, all the basketball staff and all the Flyer fans for their continued support throughout his journey.
